Annual Report 2021-22
Building new homes
This year we continued to build new homes and make strong progress against targets set out in our Development Strategy 2020-2026. We are building 1,100 quality, new, sustainable homes across Rochdale, Oldham, Tameside, Kirklees and Calderdale, of which 700 homes are yet to be delivered. These much-needed properties will help us meet the growing demand for affordable housing and improve the lives of local people.

Case study
More than £20m invested this year to help tackle the housing crisis
We've continued to help tackle the shortage of affordable housing locally by investing more than £20m this year to build 84 new homes – and plans are also underway to begin a further 259 in 2022/23.
Our new-build developments completed April 2021 – March 2022 range from one and two-bedroom apartments to two, three and four-bedroom family houses across Oldham, Tameside and Rochdale boroughs to help meet housing need.
Joel Owen, our Director of Development said: “As in many other parts of the country, demand for affordable housing in Oldham and surrounding areas significantly outstrips supply and the pandemic has shown us that increasing the number of affordable homes for people is more urgent than ever.
"Despite interruptions in our programme over the past year, due to Covid and challenges from rising costs and reduced availability of materials, we've continued to deliver quality, modern, sustainable homes for people in greatest need in line with our Development strategy, and we will continue to expand on this going forward.
